Autobiography
Born in 1974 in Sochi. In his family art was everything. His parents Tatiana Verbitskaya and Peter Kukushkin. All childhood he spent in art life of his parents, with exhibitions and vernisages. It was a serious influence, so after years to become an artist was the only one way for Iliya.
After school in 1991 Iliya entered graphic faculty of the Kuban state university. In this time Iliya first travels to Germany where he understood what contemporary art is. He was so inspired by the free art spirit that decided to enter art university in Bonn, Kurt Baumfeld’s class. Since then he started participating in exhibitions in Germany and in Russia. After graduation Iliya came back to his motherland, were he experiments in paintings and graphics, searching for his own way and style. In 2002 Iliya decided to move to Germany to graduate Düsseldorf Art Academy, professor Rissa class.
